Youth Employment Opportunities

 

Out-of-School activities promote work readiness and are available to youth who are eligible to receive these services.

Activities include:

  • GED® classes, emphasizing labor market information
    • Available to those ages 17-24 years of age who reside in Bradford County and are not enrolled in school
  • Work Experience – placements have included sites such as:
    • Bradford County Manor
    • Bradford County Library
    • Martha Lloyd Community Services
    • School districts in Bradford County, as well as a number of worksites throughout the county
    • M&J Oil and Lube
    • Animal Care Sanctuary
    • Wyalusing Collision and Repair
  • Career exploration
  • Decision-making and mentoring
  • Job Shadowing
  • Job readiness
  • Job search assistance
  • On-the-Job Trainings
  • Training sponsorship of up to 2 years may be available to those who are eligible

Bradford County Action’s Out-of-School programs offer students the opportunity to:

  • Investigate careers
  • Talk to employers
  • Discover what it takes to get and keep a job
  • Learn how to fill out applications, write resumes, and interview with confidence.

Summer Youth Employment Opportunities

Bradford County Action recruits temporary workers for the Summer Component of the Youth Program. This program provides entry-level work experiences throughout Bradford County. These opportunities include, but are not limited to:

  • Janitorial
  • Clerical
  • Landscaping
  • Construction experiences

Work sites have included:

  • Bradford County Offices
  • District Magistrates’ offices
  • Local school districts
  • Martha Lloyd Community Services
  • M&J Oil and Lube
  • Animal Care Sanctuary
  • Wyalusing Collision and Repair

Applicants must be:

  • 16-24 years of age
  • Income-eligible
  • Resident of Bradford County

A photo ID and proof of residency will be required at the eligibility appointment with the Youth career advisor.
